Steelers

Steelers

A Poem by Kathryn Star, Shine!
"

a quick response to the super bowl game!

"

One minute to go,

Cardinals ahead

Steelers gain the ball and recover,

When you have nothing to lose

There is no fear,

As the quarter back threw back his arm

To throw the longest, meanest ball of all,

The receiver saw

That he could help win,

If only he could catch, he'd

have to fly,

Up with wings,

His golden hands touched the dream

touched down in the endzone

Graffittii was thrown,

As the crowd screamed!

Well, I was pulling for Arizona...I mean I felt bad for them after their senior Senator lost the presidential race and all, and the Steelers already had all those wins in the Superbowl, they're just getting greedy if you ask me. Poor little Cardinals with broken wings won't be able to fly south for the winter now. lol

It was awesome to watch such a close game - especially when I would have been equally pleased either way. And what fun to capture the winning play in a poem!
:)

("Quarterback" is one word and I think in the next-to-last line you want "Confetti" rather than "Graffitti".)

Kathryn, it was definitely an awesome game. I have seen some thrillers in my time, this was great.

haha. i like the creativity of using a football game to write a poem. I was hoping for the Cardinals for no other reason than I live in Arizona. But I don't know a single thing about football lol. I liked your poem though :)
