Woman Regained

Woman Regained

A Poem by Meridian

woman in chains
woman with more heart
than brains
or sense
no natural defense
from the consequence
of the bumps and bruises
earned from love
with little resistance

woman in pain
woman who’s loveline
bears a permanent stain
constant strain
lingering stress
so many trials
so little rest
woman insane
woman in flames
woman invested
so little gained
so brokenhearted
from loving so deep
yet loving in vain
only a shell remains

woman drained
woman at the bottom
woman in the rain
nowhere to go but up
the foundation is laid

woman reconstructed
with strength as her frame
wisdom as her crown
self-respect as her gown and train
woman improved
woman regained
steadfast and unmoved
woman, new day.

Hello there! :)

I've been searching this site for other women's writings; specifically feminist works.
I like this poem a lot! I like how you speak of the oppression of women; it speaks to me in a patriarchal manner- though that may be out of context.

...this is basically what all women go through isn't it? It is in my experience anyways! lol

Good job :)
