Death's Amendment

We can't do anything to stop the violence so why even try?

Your kid was shot at school? That's a damn shame.

Surely you don't think guns are to blame?

Have you considered those video games?

Immensely violent, they're all the same.

The second amendment ensures our guns will stay,

So don't try to ruin our fun and play.

"But guns keep us safe" or so I'll say.

No need for checks claim the NRA.

Your kids going to school so say your final goodbye.

Unless they are bulletproof they will most likely die,

But guns aren't to blame the politicians wouldn't lie.

You will never get our guns, so don't even try.

Author's Note

Just a quick satirical poem through the eyes of a gun nut. Tried to challenge myself by having every line in a stanza rhyme.

One day I might actually use some of these satirical poems at an open mic night.
