The Race

The Race

A Poem by KillerWithWords
"

Sometimes we feel like we can't go on.

"

From the start you tell yourself no way.

This Battle is far too great,

The road too long.

As you tell yourself these things you think,

FORWARD.

The bends look treacherous.

You feel the ache coming on,

You feel the weak waiting to take over.

As you fight your self-doubt,

FORWARD.

The Race is too long.

Fighting has worn you out.

You Fall to the ground.

Bloody,

Tearstained,

Lost.

There’s no more strength,

FORWARD.

Race till you fall,

FORWARD.

Race till you’ve got nothing inside of you,

FORWARD.

Race for every ounce of passion you’ve ever had,

FORWARD.

Race for whom you love,

FORWARD.

Race for everything you stand for,

FORWARD.

Your identity.

Your Mission.

There is a finish line.

The Race
(Review for Change the World Competition) I like this a lot, there is clearly felt emotion in this work. I wrote a piece like this called ‘Just keep keeping on’ it is all we can do really. Great entry, thank you

This is a great poem. It's very encouraging and upbeat. Kinda aspires you to find your own finish line and cross it. Nice flow too. Great job! (:

it's seems a bit forced, but, i think that is actually a positive, considering its subject matter, hahah. i really like the typography, and the creative repetitive use of the word "forward" with the changing type font. this kind of creativity should be celebrated like it was some kind of second Christmas. i would LOVE it if your writing and poetry kept up this kind of interesting perspective in the future. i was once told by someone i only met once that it's best to SHOW what you want to say, not just say it. i can't think of a better way than the one you took. cheers

I think the poem is supposed to forced as well.
Thank you for you.. read more
Can't say I really like the repetition of FORWARD. I get the significance but it tripped me up as I read. Also, not sure why the size of the font changed at the very end...? Regardless, the message is strong and clear. Not bad.

Font should get bigger in my opinion

I hear you.
I guess i traded in some of the flow for the repetitive urge to move forward.

I love this poem. It is amazing! I can relate to this though. I loved the encouragement, but everyone does need to fight to survive. I enjoyed reading this though. Thank you for sharing. :)
