The Core of Me.

The Core of Me.

A Poem by Daydreamer
"

We are who we are...Dare to be true to yourself....

"

We are idealists,

Daydreamers who dare wish,

For a reality that doesn’t quite exist.

Our heads in the clouds

Our hearts on our sleeves

The world thinks we’re crazy

Because we want world peace.

Wars continue to rage

Battles fought on the playground

Wishing to be exempt from the hurt and pain

There has to be another way, there can be another way.

"We don’t have to suffer," we say to ourselves.

Rationalists prefer us to be more pragmatic

“The world is ugly, people hate...,”

“If you’d just learn to give in, you’d see it for what it is.”

The truth is we do see,

Just differently.

We can find the beautiful inside the ugly,

The joy within the pain,

Life beyond death,

And heaven amongst the hell we create.

Idealists do have a propensity to serve humans and humanity in general. Thus, war can only be conceived as a stain on the mosaic of peace. It also goes that when people are over-run by the disorder and chaos of such turmoil, empathy is at the forefront of their opinions. I think you've expressed those sentiments well within this poem.

Life is a continual battle the disappointing part some prefer war. I like the way you wrote your feelings. They are so true and heartfelt emotions.

Just as good as others of past. The expression of the reassuring.

It's just five thousand words, and it's something that's more than worth the wait (for anyone):

Would you mind having a read of The Representative, if I send it to the necessary address. I've sent it to a few others, trying to attain an amount of opinions.

(Word of advice: view TR as precisely that, something to be viewed, not read.)

and ISIS was thwarted in Australia....Australia yet, good god.

it's closing in...can't imagine ten years from now.

i related to this poem a lot...not just because of now...but we were the idealists in the sixties...similar scenario.

well done, Daydreamer.
