The Cause of My Undoing

The Cause of My Undoing

A Poem by Daydreamer
"

He is a part of me..

"
How I long to touch you
But I know we can never be close
For your words are rugged daggers
-Carelessly thrown
And I must serve as the humble shield
Protecting the world,
From the monster you've become..

this feels to me like a mother expressing concern for a child who has gone wayward, but she knows if she reaches out to help, she will only be rejected...

i like the brevity here...it allows for the reader to take this short piece places----

i can feel the frustration and sadness of the speaker. Nicely done, Kim.
