Interlude IV: Vicious Cycle of Nature

Interlude IV: Vicious Cycle of Nature

A Chapter by Alex Vidmar

Nature gives us life,

But she also is our executioner.

She is vicious and unforgiving.

No one escapes her maw.

She is a miracle worker,

Bringing sperm and egg together.

But she is ruthless and takes her time

To kill some born with ever-changing weather.

To those who survive the heat and cold,

She strikes with virus, bacteria, and parasite.

And more will fall to her evil ways,

No matter how strong in might.

And to those who survive even still,

She's made sure they are not perfect.

She has a weapon called "Old Age"

We'll all feel its effect.

And to those who live on even longer,

Just know the end is near,

For if through your lives, evil hasn't got you,

You should say goodbye to whom you hold dear.

And when we finally pass on,

And go to wherever we got,

We're put in the ground, in a pine box,

To stink, decay and rot.

And then Nature will claim us once again,

She's doing it every second.

And she loves to rub it in everyone's faces,

By doing it all over again.
