Morning Gifts

Morning Gifts

A Poem by Kira Fulks

She sent him gifts from her blooming garden

to sweeten his pain in a life that hardened

plump plums and cherry blossoms

a rose from the bush

with a scent so awesome

sweet songs

her soul had harkened

but none could revive

his heart that has darkened.

This flows so well. it’s hard to fix something that is unfixable, especially, a lifeless heart that lost its light, whatever you do for it, It will not change, unless the change comes from within that heart, it will stay unmoved. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem.

dearest Kira... fallen fruit and faded roses are melancholy moments that play in the raindrops that sprinkle our future as the Sun breaks through and butterflies 🦋 sip the nectar of a new day. Be still my heart... and your muse will never part. tenderly, Pat

Beautiful words my dear Patricia❤️ Finally some clear patches of blue in the gray California sky.. read more
Kira the form and length of line draws out such movement in these few rhymed words so much so my heart was moved to sigh for that darkened heart. Excellent write.

Your words brightened up my heart Fay--Thank you❤️
Beautifully written and worded.
I reached the end of the poem and was wishing to still keep reading more.
Effortless! Words are flowing so well, you don't want them to stop.
Love, expressions, longing and hope - all in one poem. The guy must be truly unlucky to have missed these beautiful gifts and not have his heart melt with love, but yeah what's broken is hard to fix.
Thanks for sharing!

That guy unfortunately wasn't appreciative of those fruity gifts. Sad, but that is sometimes how it turns out. Plenty more fish in the sea dear Kira :) Keep safe and well my friend.

Ha, ha sounds like he just could not be tempted by her fruits as she tries to gain his attention. Can't tell if this is meant to be ironic or sardonic lol
