Becoming One

Becoming One

A Poem by *^*my*beautiful*zelda*love*^*
"

Only a true horse rider could accomplish such a task

"
I look down
At the horse's brown mane
I lay my hand upon the horn
Gripping tightly

Soon, her galloping gait
Sends me over the plain
She sends me flying
I am one

The hooves pound
Like a raging thunderstorm
They pound in my head
I am one

In my head
I see a girl
She's riding with her horse
She is becoming one

But before my eyes
I see myself
Screaming stilted words of exhilaration
Perhaps, I'm not completely one

Fear reaps my eyes
But a sudden realization comes
When the ground is swept below me
I shouldn't fear

Though I feel as if I might
I will not fall off
The binding between horse and rider
Holds me fast to the saddle

I am one
