Nothing But Faith

Nothing But Faith

A Poem by Karli
"

Explaining my Faith in God, without really saying it flat out. <3

"

Lord, without you, we'd be nothing.

I stand there, gazing out at the open sea.

The mighty waters curve into a dangerous wave,

crashing roughly onto the golden shores.

You're calling out to me, Lord.

You're calling right out to me.

The gentle breezes whisper against the crystal sea,

sending slow, gently rushes of ocean towards me.

I close my eyes as the water embraces me ankles,

and ventures out into the marine world again.

The waves roll of the rocks,

battling for dominance.

Lord, this is how life is.

A fierce battle.

The sunsets,

melting the sky.

We can't be this peaceful?

I know it's you, Lord.

You're so beautiful.

I venture into the rainforest,

indulging in the glorious rain falling from above.

The scenery is green, and lush.

I watch carefully as your simple creatures

frolic about.

This is their home,

you've sent them here for safety.

We take this place for granted, Lord.

The waterfalls are my beautiful soundtrack,

blessing my ears with your presence.

I feel you all around me,

the mist of the forest surrounding me.

You're calling out to me, Lord.

You're calling right out to me.

We glide through the air,

our rubber swings carrying us.

Just like you, Lord,

we're safe on these swings.

My best friend,

she's an angel.

I trust her with my life.

You've sent her for me.

When the world gets bad,

I've got someone there.

Truly, I feel your presence,

as I laugh and sing with her.

Everyone needs a best friend,

even when your best friend is God.

You've sent her for a reason.

You're calling out to me, Lord.

You're calling right out to me.

Back home, my family gathers.

These are people are my support,

you've created them especially for me,

and I'm here especially for them.

Laughter colors the peaceful air,

the children dance around the room and sing.

Our cares have been left behind.

The few times we all gather together

are the best we could ever imagine.

No one loves you the way family can,

I can't love anyone the way I love them.

We're a close circle,

we have no ends.

You keep us tied in a close knot.

You're calling out to me, Lord.

You're calling right out to me.

Author's Note

Karli
So, I was talking to my best friend tonight. We talked a little about God. Not religion, but relationships with God. I was really inspired. I'm also very inspired by the song Only Hope (it's from A Walk To Remember. Best movie ever.). So, listen to it:) this is basically about everything good in life.
Also, this is the longest poem I've ever written.
