I Grew Blank

About a girl who can't understand her own entity.

I grew blank.  I became a wall.  Everyone, I says loud, happy, and glorious.  It’s my day.  But no one’s

 there.  Why don’t they talk?  I cry and laugh.  I’m a ventrilicus in a off pale wall.  I’m hungry I tell 

myself.  So now I walk in empty place.  Isn’t that hilarious.  To the truth of the matter, I’m black.  I’m 

female, but I don’t understand.  I’m black.

 

I walked nonchalantly and everything seemed fine to me.  I fact, the road of mine�"a long downward incline I felt at ease.  My 

view was bricked walled two stories homes.  The white windows hued black in glass.  I grew blank.

wow! very enigmatic .. the being lost come across with emphasis ... nice work .. could not find the meaning of ventriilicus .. is it a misspell? or poetic license for having to do with ventriloquist? abstract and free verse are my cup of tea ... you break a lot of rules in this but i have to say .. the pic in the body of the text really works for me in this one .. and you give us a clear picture of going blank .. it can be one instant .. or a whole life of being that pale wall .. imaging and emotive response is instant for me ... we all must know what not being seen or heard can be like .. well done .. original, powerful images and emotive for me
