Richard Nixon: Chapter 1

A Chapter by knighngale
"

Richard Nixon is becoming President

"

The ballots provoked.  It is final, the newscast exclaimed.  Its unanimous they concluded.  Nixon is our next president.  The people laughed.  That perty boy thought he would be our next president.  I mean it.

      Chapter 1

It was a fearsome year, 1969.  Nixon cried alone.  He knew he fitted the profile.  But not the candendacy.  He put  his hands over his face.  No one knew that.  Slowly, gently came Marlyn Monroe.  He sat in his office chair.  She always loved him.  He sobbed.  He felt her as she calmed him with her body.  They made love, she felt.  For him, it was just sex.

Everyone champange!  It’s a day older.  The ballots were counted.  It’s a new day!  Crazy.  The next war came.  Vietnam.  Why are we there? Asked all the wealthy to fight for land, honor, and freedom.  They cried, because instead of happiness proclaimed, it was a shortcoming.  The mothers and women cried more.  Like Monroe it was nothing but agony and gravity.  The doors might not…

Marilyn Monroe knew his excitement.  No one knew why she allowed herself to love him so much, Nixon that is.  She willed nothing but to die for him.  Nixon always laughed when he saw her from afar.  She kills me! He would always say.  Little did he know he had her.

Nixon is our president!  The United States went askew.  Many died that afternoon.  At that time communism corner.  Actors, writers, politicians watched in fear.  They called it back then the golden

cape of fear.

i like this a lot K - it is kinda surreal and stream of consciousness, but it has real feeling and real merit. it reminds me of Beatles - or maybe even David Bowie - songs from that era - it is not just nostalgia, but it has real 'bite' as well. Your use of language to divert the expected verbal outcomes, is excellent as well. Do you believe they landed on the Moon for instance ? There are many in the UK who believe it was done in a Hollywood Film Studio, and directed by Stanley Kubrick.
I will read the other Chapters in this interesting discourse soon :)
