Embrace

Embrace

A Poem by Mike Cole

How much I longed not to leave
All I had even known was in one place
This new place I could not embrace

Although there are many interpretations, I sense a love left behind in the form of a girl on this one. Or could it be just a home? Good one either way.

Reminds me of when we had to move out of our first home, the only one I knew till I went away to school...I still can't drive or walk by the place, it kills me to do it...you've captured that sentiment more than succinctly here...a good example of how a poem doesn't have to be a million words long to convey real emotion...nicely done :)
