Like The Ending of A Movie

Like The Ending of A Movie

A Poem by 송지석 / Ji-Suk

I still love you I'm just a little bit tired
I'm afraid I might hurt myself
I'm not a nice guy, I'm just being selfish
Saying I still love you is a lie
You wanted an answer from the beginning
Like the ending of a movie you've already watched
You were getting more and more difficult for me
Like the perfect story you wanted
You won't be able to bear the cruel goodbye
My lips wouldn't say the words even if I try
I still love you I'm just a little bit tired
I'm afraid I might hurt myself
I'm not a nice guy, I'm just being selfish
Saying I love you is a lie
I've thought about this time and time again
How will I be without you?
Unkept promises of us
Nothing but meaningless words
You won't be able to bear the cruel goodbye
My lips wouldn't say the words even if I try
I still love you I'm just a little bit tired
I'm afraid I might hurt myself
I'm not a nice guy, I'm just being selfish
Saying I still love you is a lie
Why can I not say the words
I still love you but now I am tired of you

You know this is the end
Lying I love you

You are welcome.
The part I like about your poem – one of the most honest expressions of how one grows tired of the hassle & drama of a love situation. The part I don’t enjoy so much – lots of repetition thru-out, so the actual message you convey is really only half this much. The repetition waters down the vivid truthfulness of your words for me. These days, people often drop another person without explanation, just disappearing . . . the situation in your poem reminds me of what might be going thru a person’s head when he/she “ghosts” the other person. Sometimes it’s just too tiring to try to explain. I love the straightforward truth of that (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Oh...my goodness....
Reading this poem makes me feel the one who bids farewell pricks his/her heart the most than the one who's being wished good bye....
Indeed it was sad and heart touching!
