Man's Best Friend

I wrote this for my dog Niki who passed away in November as well as my grandpa's dog Abbey who passed this morning

With a heavy heart you’re laid to rest
You’re gone too soon

Man’s best friend
more like family.
Gone in a blink of an eye

I’m sad that you’re gone
at least you didn't suffer

But now my pretty girl,
you’re up in the sky
chasing squirrels and clouds.

I’d like to think you’re up there making some child happy.
A child that never got to have a dog

You may be gone
but never forgotten
