The Black Rain

The Black Rain

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I don't want to die in arms

of naked clouds.

I don't want to be born

at the feet of the murdered Moon.

Lift my heart out of conscience,

look at the abyss, towards the words

that have long been gone.

I wish I could save you from

my hope, but the black rain is

still falling.

Once you hand me

another bouquet of fresh tears,

my time will humbly pass

without breathing, my eternity

will be lost at the decisive moment.

Don't feed my words

with a cold old shadow.
