Your Virginal Melancholy

Your Virginal Melancholy

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I am lying in bed, dreamless,

faithless in the unknown.

Solitude does not want to return,

illusions have turned to dust.

I don't want to love your anxiety,

I'm trying to understand

the cause of sweet and sour tears.

Imbued with light, I search for

the source of my betrayed madness.

Show me your desire,

share your virginal melancholy.

I can't let the dawn take away

our best future, that the open

door won't feel so painfully alien.

Prove how much you miss my thoughts.

You have to run away from

your own body again.

Again, you must save the present.

This was beautifully sad, the longing on this is felt. Nicely penned.
