God Chose Me For You

I wrote this a while ago when I was at something for my church! I hope you like it! The hidden message is: My steadfast love for you will never end <3

God Chose Me For You

Standing alone in a crowded room,

That's when you caught my eye,

You made your way over to me,

And I realized you're the perfect guy,

I was starting to see sparks fly,

So there was one thing,

That I wanted to ask you,

So I asked if you believed in fate,

This is what you said you knew

You did not choose me,

And I did not choose you,

Cuz God chose me for you,

Everything that happened,

Was meant to be,

Cuz it was all planned out,

In God's book of fate,

Cuz  he knew how much I'd love you,

That's why God chose me for you

He reminded me,

To forget all the heartbreaks,

Cuz they brought me,

Where I am today,

No matter how many tears I cried,

I'll be okay inside,

Cuz now I have him,

Here with me by my side

You did not choose me,

And I did not choose you,

Cuz God chose me for you,

Everything that happened,

Was meant to be,

In God's book of fate,

And this white veil,

And just too many people watching,

So many tears,

And so many fears,

But they all seem to disappear,

When you say

Author's Note

So a while ago we had some sort of church meeting that I had to go to in order to make my Confirmation. I was absolutely dreading it, because it was about five hours long. The first hour or so I was bored out of my mind, but soon I have no idea what happened. Before I knew it it was almost over and I didn't want to leave. Right before we left, we had about an hour of silence, where they gave us some papers to read and we could pray. The one paper had a bunch of lines from the bible together in different orders to make a letter from Jesus to you. I don't know what it is about it, but I read it about 10 times, crying every time. I fell in love with it and I just couldn't stop reading. There was a little section, that was similar to the first three lines of my chorus, and when I read it, I just had to turn over the page and start writing. That's where I got the inspiration for this song. As for the hidden message, there was one line in that poem that immediately made me burst into tears. I don't remember where it was from in the bible, but I just loved it: The mountains may depart, and the hills will be shaken, but my steadfast love for you will never end <3 Ever since then that's been one of my favorite lines, so I decided to use that as the hidden message :) Anyways, I hope you liked it and feel free to comment and review <3

I do believe in fate if you've been with your soul mate throughout your entire adult life. This is great poem. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So your belief that this person is your soul mate must have a special aspect about them that truly catches your eye for an entire lifetime. Well done. :)

Krista, this song is truly amazing and I like it a lot! I believe in fate too and I think it's great that the guy forgot all of his heartbreaks or tears he shed because he was with you now. The cutest part is that you said he didn't choose ya'lls fate, you didn't choose their fate either, that truly God chosen you and his fate from the book of fate. Keep up the great work, Krista.
