Drifter

Drifter

A Poem by Mademoiselle Kt

Floating through my days and nights,
Crushing my thoughts into a fine powder to inhale in search of truth.
Is truth the sunshine beaming down on me, or is it the unshakable frostbite I still feel?
Because this ice in my veins feels much more true than any words or any sunshine.
Were you true when you left me to fend for myself against the monsters of the world?
Or on our days on the beach when the sun still felt warm?
Coasting and drifting in the haze of thought lines and heartbeats,
I'm finding truth is less of a word and more of a feeling.
Your truth is not mine and that is alright.
We will find our meaning in our separate truths.
