The second alice

Day and night I sing these songs

 

And they adore my alluring voice yet never my songs

 

All they want is for me to sing and nothing more

 

 I hate these requests to sing these false notes

 

It wasn't like before.........

 

I miss her smile and her laugh

 

Always wanting to sing along

 

I loved the music we played, it brought me joy

 

But she's gone

 

I have no joy nor inspiration

 

Yet I still sing

But today I will sing one last song

This was the song I sang the day she died

Now today I will die and join her

And we will forever sing 

This forgotten song
