He knows pain

He knows pain

A Poem by poddar kushal

He knows pain

He let them take his advantage,

Plunder the soft tissues of heart.

The eyes hurt to conceal dark brooks.

They pick him so easy and taunt.

We never know abstract pain.

We can ask the boy, a minor

Who is certain to know much more

As his mates know of ways to rag.

The school gate and the palsy green

The face with a slight twitch is mute

To a world of less important

Busy buzz and complex layers.

He bows his head and moves inside

To face another day’s darkness.

parts were very abstract, parts were more concrete and allowed me experience some emotions. towards the end i had the feeling of... autism... of a boy with autism, lost in his own world, feeling a pain beyond the type that we normally know... the pain of being alone, and not able to communicate the way we need to.

of course, that ws my interpretation. :)
i enjoyed it, nontheless. i did find the second half to be mor relatable than the first half though

I enjoyed this, it's different, and doesn't dance around what you're trying to say too much, and it's relatable. Kudos

There is so much mobbing going on between kids at schools and playgrounds. Often the bullies do not stop to think what they are doing, so pain becomes abstract to them. May be the bullies are the autists here because they do not have the ability to empathize?

,,,abstract pain,,,interesting choice of words. pain that we cant empathize with ??... i like that this alone is open to many interpretations. ,,,the soft tissues of heart... i read this as a sensitive nature. i picture a young soul, bullied by someone, almost crushed, dutifully facing whatever the day and the offender(s) have to offer. there is much here that needs no words. you have observed the silent unobserved and made us see him. well done.

so much pain and feelings of being alone even in a crowd. "We can ask the boy, a minor" children can often inflict pain and be very cruel to one another and they also suffer intolerable amounts of mental and physical abuse from ones who claim to love them. A cruel world....a cold and cruel world.

the world is such cruelty at its worst
in the schools. Some friends can be
the most cruel. Ask any high school
any high school student knows

this world is no less important
full of its complex layers of clicks
it's ALL about popularity, being cool,
what you wear, what parties you're at

In this piece it fit the bill to the letter
everything is there. Plunder, taunt,
rag, complex layers, darkness.
never to know if you will make it out

HE does know.

I find the lines to be much wider than the words if that makes any sense.
