Shallow

Shallow

A Poem by Lotus Allgoode

I hurt.
I hurt knowing that there is
no meaning in your words.
You mean nothing to me,
I'm fine with that.
But when I mean nothing to you,
that pains me.
I've redefined selfishness.
Stab me with your indecision.
Cut me with your excuses.
Burn me with your absence.
Just don't burden me with your love.

Quite a seeming paradox... "you mean nothing to me" and yet you feel things.
