Vicious Victorian

Vicious Victorian

A Poem by LKBillips
"

Can you guess who this tale is about? A little fiction a little fact a whole lot of fun.

"
Vicious Victorian

The gaslights hiss as the moisture hits the air
The undesirables pass me by as I blankly stare
I'm looking for that special "one" to catch my eye
Oh the delicious feeling of the hunt does make me sigh

I lean against a wall of brick and stone
A darkened alley that I currently call home
I see the sky start to fade to dusk
a feeling rises both of pride and lust

Famous I have become among this realm
Apparently my brute nature does overwhelm
But art can not be rushed along you see
Each slice a weave in the tapestry of me

I see her now coming down the way
she's looking for her next deplorable lay
I wonder if she knows that she's my prey
or simply worried about her potential pay

The streets are barren now of the crowd
I saunter out with an air unduly proud
An unsteady gait but expense I reek
With dapper cane and upturned cheek

She views me with a catlike meow
and flaunts her wares about me now
my cane's hidden knife it starts to ache
desirous of the bloody pool I'll make

Clever, clever so I seem
No evidence will you ever gleam
forever unsolved this crime will be
and so continues the legend of me

Ah yes, London, Whitechapel 1888 Commercial Row, Mitre Square etc, etc.. I used to spend hours wandering around these now infamous sites picking up the vibes..... an excellent composition with just the right amount of atmosphere to avoid frightening the kids......Bravo..... Neville

Thanks Queenie. I will have to make a note. :)
Yes, as legends go, this surpasses them all.
Was he royalty. Disgruntled doctor.
Would we like to know, or would that spoil the legend?

Oh my the Ripper out again on the streets of London. This poem has a great rhythm and it flows well, in fact it is beautifully expressed and a pleasure to read. Nice rhymes also. You have done very well with this one. Probably the best of yours I have read yet.
