Circle's End

Circle's End

A Poem by LKBillips
"

A life's discovery

"
Circle's End
I write about what I know
The smell of forest
The river's flow
I write about the dreams of youth
A handsome lover
An innocent truth
I write about a broken heart
A jaded viewpoint
shattered apart
I write about a cerulean sky
Void of clouds
Void of lies
I write about the circle's end
Never coming
Endless bends
I write about the me inside
Lost for a time
Bound and tied
I write about when I broke free
Of made up rules
Of ideology
I write about the coming tide
Ever constant
The moon allied
I write about the love I feel
For family, friends
A warm cooked meal
I write about the things I've learned
People's goodness
Or Karma earned
I write about keeping my counsel
Opinions be damned
I'd rather renounce all
I write about coming home
Knowing your place
Not feeling alone
I write about my lover's heart
Finding a soulmate
Never to part
I write about the circle's end
Never coming
Endless bends

Like the pleasant rhythmic figure belted out by a side drum by a Marionette you write your rhyme with a steady gait.
drum on.

and on and on and on and on...
I like that fact that you repeated the last stanza earlier in the poem. In a way, your poem represents the poet and writer in general. The topics that have graced the pages throughout history.

Your own feelings blend in to create universal thoughts. The writer writes what they know, as you stated. As writers, we could use this poem as a reference being there's so much here.

Great poem, LK.

Thanks Peter!!
This is beautifully written and circular in itself, as your pen writes the curves and arcs of triumphs, hopes and aspirations, as well as the other fourteen billion and eight things in between.
It flows perfectly, from one thought or aspect to another, like the arcs it describes in the never ending lines of us.

I love so much about this. I love the title & how you used it in your message & how your message created the idea of the cycles of life. I love all your specific examples stated with strong rhyme & rhythm. I love the way some of your life observations impart a momentary lesson for our thinking (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thanks Margie! Us rhyme-aholics need to stick together. :)
very fine LK! the journey of poets and artists alike ... complex we are eh!? the thread of beauty and contented strength runs throughout this ... your narrator has swum the river, climbed the mountain and is at peace through suffering ... i like this a lot .. should be an anthem for the living ..
