Don't

Don't

A Poem by Lola Nation

It’s empty.

Nothing can replace

or fulfill that place

It’s deserted

left in grand prestige,

alone,

untouched.

Just as it was

and don’t you dare

excavate the premises

looking for gold,

seeking attention,

or in hopes of sharing

discoveries

overlooked.

Slightly mysterious, highly evocative. Wnderful thought. Great piece

interesting insight and i enjoyed the symphony of words, it all flowed very nicely
there was some emotion behind the empty and overlooked that i needed to read it twice to try to figure it out but i read between the lines and gained a sense of mystery...a wonderful work of art.

The thing about memory is, it lies. The trees were always taller, the mountains so much higher, the grass was so much greener...when the truth is...we were only younger then. Our bodies were smaller so the trees looked taller, our legs were shorter so the mountains seemed higher and our eyesight wasn't fading yet so naturally the grass looked brighter...maybe the future looked brighter. But we have to consider perspective and take our newfound wisdom into account. But I wouldn't dream of seeking attention...still, if it rains I might seek shelter from the storm. I enjoyed this...your writing always makes me think.
