Dreams In Flight

Dreams In Flight

A Poem by L.M.Warde

Stars trickling through the night,
tumbling onward across the sky.
They're a fleeting, fickle light,
streaking without cause, or reason why.

I hold my breath, eyes open wide,
stars trickling through the night.
Flashing forward for some place to rest or hide,
such a beautiful, Passing light

All at once I see them,
tumbling onward across the sky.
One glowing brightly, like a falling gem
Shooting by, no cause or reason why

Racing past like fading dreams,
they're a fleeting, fickle light.
Hundreds at once they flow like streams.
Lights in the dark, they shine so bright.

Before long, they slowly lessen,
streaking without cause, or reason why.
Now nothing more than a faded procession;
a memory of the night when all our dreams could fly.

More or less a cascade. I never get tired of talking about the stars.
