TASTING THE MEMORY OF YOU

TASTING THE MEMORY OF YOU

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

Tasting the memory of you...

feels like wild horses running through my mind

Some bitter sweet, like the root of a dandelion

yet still having the sweetness of the flower

that brings its golden beauty on a warm spring day

Our love was not always a 'happy ending fairy tale'

Sometimes it felt sad, angry and bitter

like the pungent taste of lemon on my tongue

Other times it felt sweet and loving…

like a craving for raspberries that grow so tender on their vines

But now you have gone to Heaven and I’m left all alone

with these bitter, sweet memories of you

that lay upon my tongue … forever in my mind

still longing for the savory, sweet, raspberry taste of you...

but also remembering  the pungent, sour taste

of lemon on my tongue, and always remembering ...

just how much I still love and miss you
