Please Don't

Please Don't

A Poem by Lady Luck

Please don't lie to me.

If I'm ugly, then tell me.

I hate it when you lie, even more when it's about me.

You seem to think it's okay.

Tell someone things about them that's never true.

If you don't love me,

Then stop saying it.

I'm pretty sure I'm a big girl now.

I can handle the truth.

I don't want your lies at all.

If anything, I want the truth.

If you don't stop lieing, I know someone who will.

The mirrior

The cameras.

None of them lie.

this poem's greatest strength is the personification of mirrors and cameras. It's a cliche, but it could go a long way with a little subtlety. But I can't help liking the conversational tone of this, and (yes) I know the feeling.
