Consuming Drugs is Walking a Fine LineA Poem by LadyAnn68Consuming Drugs is Walking a Fine Line
Consuming drugs is walking a fine line, So thin almost invisible, One side white, one side black, Yet both sides at a glance seem so invite-able! Each side has a good and each side has a bad, Some make you happy others make you sad, The problem is the instinctive drive and allure, Which way to choose well…it can become so unsure!
Consuming drugs is walking a fine line, So vague and ambiguous, When still so young with gobs of energy, Never stopping to “think” what it does to us, Each side has a smart and each side has a dumb, But what can feel so right is only being numb, The problem is what we want we sometimes get, When terribly wrong oceans of tears are usually wept!
Consuming drugs is walking a fine line, So indefinite and yet so finite, But when the urge hits you, It is either the right time of day or the wrong time of night, Each side could be righteous or it becomes sinful, It can be hardship or it can be playful, The problem is when it turns dark outside and shadows evil, You have to defend yourself and can no longer afford to be civil!
Consuming drugs is walking a fine line, So crooked no longer fair, Emotional swinging up and then down, Sorrow breaking your mother’s heart pulling your out your hair, Each side has opposite effects, No longer in control, no longer able to select, The problem is one wonders how you got “in”, one wonders now how to get “out”, Echoing throughout the night in frustration and anger in a loud, hollow filled shout!
Question: ONE PONDERS, “WHAT TO DO WHEN WALKING THAT LINE?”
Answer: CROSS IT TO THE “RIGHT” SIDE!
