Every artist

Every artist

A Poem by Lady Celery
"

Short little poem for a contest.

"
"Every artist was first an amateur." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Every artist has a beginning, and a piece that they call "first"
It's usually not beautiful, it's typically the worst
Success follows disaster
Every artist was first an amateur, they had to learn it all
If they chose to just give up, that was their downfall
Victory follows loss

Ummm... it's short, but I think I got the point across.

Short, but gets the point across pretty quickly. Fine job.

Your words are true. To be a success in writing, music and all arts forms. Takes luck and a lot of hard work. More losses then victories. You are correct. A outstanding poem.

definitely an inspirational little piece that's very catchy and succinct... i totally agree with you too btw -- everybody started out in the same place... even faulkner and hemmingway began with 'see spot run' ;D

"It's usually not beautiful, it's typically the worst" - I don't go with that. Maybe the words would be very common. But you can never predict the imagery (Even if by an amateur). A nice little poem. I loved the second last line. Since you've written this for a contest, I suggest you improvise it as soon as possible and to the extent possible.. :) Toda para ti? :)

Keep writing.
