Your Fool

Your Fool

A Poem by Lady Scarlet

I sit in our bed and wait for you with a glass of wine,

Even though in my heart I know that you are no longer mine.

You gave up on us, to try out something new

When that failed I was the one that you returned to

But not as a lover, like I had wished

Now I am your friend, no longer to be kissed

Someone who would fix all your problems when things got hard

It seemed everyone but you, knew my heart had been charred.

Your smile is the sun that warms my world, that heats my face

But no longer are your words soft like lace

Now they hurt me with each new woman that you meet

And when you walk away I can finally fall to my feet

You want her, but I want you

How can I keep doing what I do?

I am the shadow that cautiously follows you around

Making sure that you dont get hurt and that all your dreams are found

You use me like some people would use a tool

Yet I refuse to runaway, I will always be your fool.

You use me like some people would use a tool
Yet I refuse to runaway, I will always be your fool.

These words are so truthful, this whole write is,
I have been there before, and it hurts really bad,
Poeple liek to say they understand, Oh but they don't.
I really liked this piece and could connect with it.
