Standing in the corner

Standing in the corner

A Poem by Lady Pearl
"

a poem about being the girl on the side, and watching the man you love be with someone else

"
I was
Standing in the corner
Right by the entrance
Smoking a cigarette
Trying to forget
Your plans to meet me last Tuesday
Why didn't you call me?
Why didn't you show?
Our last night together
Was heated and passionate
I remembered how good you said you felt
And she couldn't make you love her
Not the way I made you feel...
I smiled
And took out my phone to call you
But remembered I couldn't
So she wouldn't find out we spoke
Until you let her go
You said you'd let her go...
Just by the entrance
I recognized your car
There you were
With her
And you and I
Looked at each others eyes
You walked on by
And I smoked another cigarette...

Best to move on, I think. There are plenty of fish in the sea, as they say.

It is always hard to watch the person you loved once go with someone else. Very well written. Keep it up.
