Let go

Let go

A Poem by Laur

the constant need to blame myself
every item in the box at the end of my basement stairs
mom, I said to hide it
all the nicknames and inside jokes
this time of the year its really hard to fight it
the pictures all stashed in the back of my closet
that come out on the rarest of nights
hope that one day you will finally wake up
and decide wrong your rights
the voice in the back of my head
that tells me its because my personality is so different
although thats what you used to love
i need to let go of the future
so thought out and set
let go of the second guesses and harboring regret
let go of the sad wishful thinking that haunts me every day
all it does is break me down
and take my personality away
last but not least is the thing i still hold
none of this was part of the plan
the thing I need to let go of the most
i need to let go of your hand.

What sweet melancholy this is. So many questions come to mind, was that hand ever truly warm or was it simply a projection of what you wanted it to be? This is an interesting poem, thought provoking and easy to empathize with, well not easy because it brings back painful memories. Anyways, may something worthwhile be just around the corner for you.

A painful piece...yet insightful, letting go is not easy, beautifully written xo

This brought out a lot of thought - even some truisms... there really isn't all that comfort in 20-20 hindsight

You're welcome...
IT is hard to "LET GO"--however, sometimes the release you feel afterwards is worth it.
Special moments hide behind the ugly ones, so reveal those instead of the most hated ones.
Hoping for happiness for you...

A heartfelt write. Full of emotions dripped down into the forms of tears unto the shades of your words.

Sometimes we just lose hope and want to shut down from everything. This reminded me of one of those moments.

thats where i was headed!
A very emotional penning of your pain, of learning to let go to begin healing.

NOTE: I recommend you change your font face. Courier isn't the most readable font because of the tracking and character spacing issues. Georgia or Times is a better serif font. Helvetica is a fairly universal san-serif font.

You're welcome.
Wow. You put so much emotion into it. Every line deeply shows the pain, and frustration of letting go.

Letting go isn't ever easy. Let me tell you. But you already know.

Great write.
