Longing For Soon

Longing For Soon

A Poem by Little Whisper

Her voice haunts me.
Like a parched leech she clings to my very soul
Refusing to forget or release.

I remember her image in the passenger-side mirror
peering modestly back at me...whispering
"Don't look away ....
I know you see the beauty in me
     the beauty beyond."

To this day I hear her coaxing me,
  whispering...
"I'm still here,
  You'll find me soon."

The use of leech seems quite appropriate to me. The subconscious is far more powerful than we sometimes give it credit for. Very atmospheric poem.

My first thoughts were hauntingly beautiful... then noticed Mark said the same.

The level of sophistication and inner wisdom in this is impressive.

Leeches aren't harsh....they're cute and hungry and they do cling ..it is their nature and nature is what haunts the village of this work. Chills are good things too, means you are alive! Don't "long the soon" it will be here well enough~ Your ghost inside each poem is what we all hunt for....This is Beautiful!

You gave me chills in the last verse… once someone who is important to us goes away they never truly are gone, they reside in our heart forever.

It was my pleasure
Nice poem, not sure how 'parched leech' fits into the theme, I feel it is too harsh for the essence of the poem but enjoyed it anyway.

Nice work.
