Writer's ache

Writer's ache

A Poem by Laura Kate

My smiling words hold hands like children
swinging around and around,
they spin so fast that they fall dizzy
landing in heaps upon the ground.

I often struggle to catch them,
It's best that I let them go...
but the space they leave me with pains me,
so I ache from head to toe.

Very thought provoking poem Laura. Words can be a wonder. I know that sometimes I wonder where they have come from. Other times words form and then seem to slip away and I'm left with an empty space. Words can also slip out and cause so much pain.
I like your image of the children!
Cheers,
Alan

Here you perfectly capture the creative and inspirational process borne in the intuitive mind of a writer, the emotions and sentiments formed in the spirit and duly manifested in the beauty and power of words in their myriad expressions, allowing release and relief for the writer and knowledge and inspiration for others.

Well done!

writing is often a way to reflect...and even if we don't try to harness the words that come out...they still reflect our pain...
and remind us of for whom and why we ache.
