Hope For Better Days

Hope For Better Days

A Poem by LeAnn
"

I wrote the first part of this ages ago, just revising it to how I feel now.

"
My past is filled with cigarette smoke and silence.
Filled with arguments and anger.
Lies, and tears.
Yet,
The reaking smell of smoke. And the sound of absolutely nothing,
That's my best memory.
The few moments where I could feel nothing,
That's what I long for.
To finally be free of the anger, and tears.
To just feel nothing.
Yet,
I grasp onto the hope for better days. And the bright future I know is possible.
So feeling nothing, will never be an option.
Hope, and love. That's all I want and need to feel right now.
So please,
Someone guide me there.

A very honest plea set out in a freeverse style. The protagonist indeed shows movement from being moribund to feeling hope. A nice piece. I guess the answer is to love yourself first and to enjoy the silence all around you as you do. Then seek to let the sounds and sights and smells infiltrate without corruption.

Awe hon ur poem was so pure. It shows how much u have struggled to get to where u are. I can see all of that in ur writing. And still we hope for better days of course hope is life without it we wouldnt be here. May God help and guide us both. Stay blessed ;)
