Empty Vase

The vase is a metaphor, What do you think it represents?

A beautiful vase,
Filled of beautiful flowers.
Roses a deep red,
Sunflowers a glowing yellow.
They filled this vase.

Full of life,
The vase brought light to the room.

But over time,
The flowers wilted.
The roses a crusty grey,
The sunflowers a dirty brown.
The flowers died.

The vase grew spider web cracks.
The color faded from the vase,
And dust grew.

Until eventually,
The vase fell from its pedestal.

And shattered.
