Heart Quake

Heart Quake

A Poem by Leaner Pastures
"

....when you just can't suppress the ache....

"

i wish i could get some rest
from the hollow feelin in my chest

one minute every thing is fine
then I'm in a collapsin mine

panicked, scrambalin
gibberish ramblin

hoping for the sound
of diggin in the ground

the air is too thin and foul
I'll never give in I futilely howl

despite the cloying putrescence of death
I finally manage the catching of breath

vision slowly shimmers and stops to shake
I have survived another Broken Heart Quake

Author's Note

Leaner Pastures
I went spelunking once. I can't imagine making my living underground, and the dangers Miners face are much sharper than the edges of my broken heart.

I think everyone that has had a broken heart has felt this way. One minute ok then the next ready to die or at least put out of their misery. It does not help a whole lot to know that everyone at some point in time has been through it. It is an up hill battle but it will get better. Great writing

I like this poem. I like the description of the heart brake. In my time I wrote up a storm when I'm down and out on love. You can write a poem. A excellent poem.

Fun to read. I like poems that flow like you are normally talking but rhyming. Nice job.

I agree with Ed. Been there and it never really goes away, you just find new ways to deal with it. You know I'm always here for you.
