HOOKED ON CABLE

TV?? SCREAM!! GREW UP ON IT ... DON'T WATCH IT NOW ....THIS POEM INSPIRED ME 2WRITE A SHORT SCREENPLAY

On a massive couch sit cable junkies ... hooked to the tube

Shooting up TV heroin ... getting their fix on the hour

Absorbed & still high on last night's show,

They stare at the electric box flashing violent pictures of life & death

Uneffected ... untouched by the real world

Waiting ... watching fabricated life as they change channels

 

Lots of girls wait for Prince Charming to sweep 'em off their feet

Sipping coffee while clutching their fleshy thighs

Those charmers just watch chick butts swish

Looking for only a piece of love

Couples waltz thru parties with lampshade heads

Collectin' tele-visions with their eased warped senses

Fading ... baking into couch potatoes

Hookin' themselves into the TV pod forever

Some gals tune into fads that boost up their outer selfs

Losing luster within ... polishing their exterior'

Changing ... transforming into plastic Barbie dolls

Searching for Ken who no longer cares

Some men hit the bars with eyes glued to the big screen

Spittin' out playoff chatter while their babes

Go one on one with some other guy

As they drown ... soak into lonely ragmen

Some people dream they have antennaes to read minds

Communicating in silence ...

Hoping that others will stay tuned in ...
