A FLEETING MOMENT

YOUNG MEN DIE EVERY DAY, THE NEWS SAID TODAY

YES, IT HAPPENED, A GENTLE SOUL FLOATED AWAY

TOO SHORT WAS LIFE, THE MAGIC HE STILL EXUDES 

MEMORIES OF HIS SMILE, BRINGS JOY TO MULTITUDES

A POET, WISEMAN, HE WARMED OUR HEARTS AGLOW

A LOSS, AN ACHE, WE MISS HIS EBB AND FLOW

DEV, A SPIRIT OF HOPE WE'LL ALWAYS KNOW 

SO VIBRANT, SO JOYOUS, WE LOVE YOU SO

Although, i don't know your friend. Your words paint an image of a young man, overflowing with the zest for life. Taken, before he had the chance to live and grow old. No truer forms of honouring his memories, exist, except than this poem. Hoping writing this very personal poem is cathartic for you, in your healing.
