This is a very interesting proverb. I have been reading through a couple of things that you've posted and I think that you are quite philosophical. Everything you've written that I've read so far has provoked deep thoughts. I suppose that is why you have been working feverishly with your group in order to inspire thoughts to change the way that Child Protective Services is run. I have recently watched the movie August Rush and I think that it really pushed me to join your group. I really respect what those children who grew up in foster homes and in the custody of the state had to go through because it certainly isn't easy to live without your parents to guide and teach you. When all you know is the same room lined with bunk beds, every meal the same inexpensive slop, each day routine- planned out to the very second. Where you get no allowance, you always have a bed time that is non-negotiable, and at eighteen you are kicked out regardless of your means to survive. You're doing a great thing and I'm with you. You know your stuff. Now, onto the actual poem. It's brief but packed with meaning. I especially loved the last line because it evoked the most thought from me. Because this change to winter suddenly chilled me with both realization and of course, a pseudo-feeling of cold that was provoked by "Invasion of cold air." Good job! -Kenji Light

I like to fancy myself perceptive...and somewhat profound on the phiposophical side of things. But, I am not altogether sure I completely understand what you are getting at here. Particularly the last line. Did you in fact mean "solstice?" or did you actually mean "solace." Careful!
And, as your first line in this piece brought something I had just written to mind, may I comment it to you and ask you if you understand what it is I...am saying in my piece: REBIRTH...AGAIN ? You will find the line which parallells your: "Time expressed...beginning to end"
I would be most interested if you see the connection.
Thankx,
GA

Hi Legacy,
I enjoyed your poem.
It is restful and thoughtful.
It makes me think of a modern house that lets in the old.

I like it. It reminds me of a well written haiku in the way it changed from two ideas, but was all one same concept. Congrats.

Sometimes, less is truly more. You don't always need stanzas and stanzas to express what can be said in a few lines. This is an excellent example of that. Like this work, I'll keep my review short and sweet. Thanks for sharing.

This is a great example of how a few, poinant words can have a profound sense of vision and character. I like that you used a theme and than used brackets to set up the connectiopn between the middle anf the end. Nice work.

I'm not sure I like the part about unsealed winter solstice. It seems to lead up but I don't understand the last line.

although I had to read this a few times to grasp what you were trying so say it is still a great poem. Poems don't have to be a page long to hit you with a deep meaning and you accomplished this with only a few lines. I think this poem deserves a title, whatever it may be but its something to think about.
