Night Train Memories

Night Train Memories

A Poem by Leigh
"

In the night I can hear the train and it brings all the memories flooding back

"

Are the grasses still bright and golden as we left them?

Or have they grown dark and sullen in our neglect?

And as the night train rushes by singing its song,

Does it know those were the fields where we used to play?

Rattling over bridges and passed ears of corn

Cutting through a blanket of quietness

In that unique summer that was

That had a light never to be repeated

I like this, the color you chose to write this in adds to the summer feel of the piece. When reading this you do such a great job at bringing the reader to a place of your memories. I can envision the fields, and grass. the ears of corn. Although it may be different here in the US, I can hear noises of summer, frogs, crickets and children laughing. You do this in such a short piece. This is wonderful. With summer almost over, it makes me kinda of sad to read this, but in a good way! This is a great piece!

Something to look forward to....for that day when the night train meets you and comes to be apprised of that light. Wouldn't it be surprised!

Yes, nice thought, when two worlds collide!
The word play is very Pionant and keen, so emotional and very smooth very touching, and like this poem.

Thanks for taking the time to review my poem
I like it a lot. The lost memory with another person can be painful to remember them with just a sound. Nice job.
