Poetic Fragments

mossy tombstones

tilted in the graveyard

with names and dates

of long ago

yesteryear

finding

the eyes of

today

Poetic Inscription upon the children’s tombstone:

‘Our Sun is in the morning set,

‘Our days have been but few

Let not your cheeks for us to be wet

Nor tears your face bedew’
