Windows

A Poem by Leonard Birch
"

Look out windows, Once my shell.

"

Windows

So wide,
so elegant,
are the stars above.
The graceful flutter,
of a snow white dove.
How I wish to escape and see,
open yon window and set me free.

I would fly beyond the stars of night,
where angels sing,
by candlelight.
To play amongst the fields
so green;
Quietness is,
my endless dream.

Like a lake;
so calm,
so still.
All I seek is for the will.
To hear the chimes of distant bells,
Release me from,
my inner shell.

Beautiful.
You have some amazing abilities. One, your rhyming skills; your rhymes are clever and are obviously thought-out. They are not cheesy rhymes. Two, your ability to use details; your descriptiveness in this peice made it a splendid read and write. This truly is a magnificent poem.
Fantastic job! Keep up the amazing work!

I take this as a sign of hope...yet an endearing sense of escape from the inside... Of course... in this case only windows are the barriers to freedom... Only finding the way out is the key to salvation...

You too my friend...You are welcome...:)
This is beautiful. Your rhymes are effortless. I feel a peacefulness in your images; a yearning, but not a desperation. A yearning to set your soul free. Wonderful!
