~ Eden Lost ~

A Poem by Misery

You may call me Ishmael

But such is not my name

I’ve been known as Judas

Son of Iscariot.

And known as Cain,

A first of many sons.

Because...

I let demons into Eden:

Sensual, Silken, Seething.

Once a child of paradise I

Keeper of Gardens sublime

Now I drift from Eden lost

In shadow lands of the lost.

Oh, would that I could undo

Foolish days of foolish youth;

Oh, that I could cast from me

Ancient days of debauchery.

But the demons are here, yes!

Ranks strong - battle dressed.

And yet, why so vast an army

Against...one fool of poetry?
