Girl

Girl

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

just a picture, an image

"
Crouching as many curves
                        in a bronze spring
                        a road full of turns

Tugging your knees
into the apples of your chest
                       hair seaweed over rocks

Hidden the face
                       between a bone tunnel
                       a circle perfect in itself.

reminds me of "crouching tiger, hidden dragon"

this perfect girl has no idea she is...she is crouching, she is hiding herself away, feeling not good enough...but one day she will spring forth with courage, resolve and faith in her own perfection.

lovely poem ...tightly woven in few words...i like the brevity...it really is the soul of a poet's wit.

SyberRose...I like the way you said you are not important...just read.

A perfect picture of a perfectly symmetrical damsel! So inspiring so vivid! Just excellent poetry!

Now this I like. Not merely for its completeness and the images it also conjours up for me.

I can't say it better than Jeremy Baker, to be honest... there are a lot of nuggets of interesting and complex imagery in this poem.. I need to re-read. An intriguing poem.

Although short, there's so much packed inside this taught gem that I think I will need to digest it slowly, savour it in my mouth and delight in its music. Beautifully written.
