Electra

Electra

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

a poem from the past

"
Let me seek asylum in the sea
                      silent depths of ice water
                      for I have swallowed sorrow

Touch the clematis in a seaside garden
                      a patched wall sun-warmed
                      and crystal with salt

Shudder at the rumble of the breakers
                     small stones laughing as they
                     are pulled over the sand.

Orestes : the noble are no more than disguised.

A love lost? Or something worse? A very visual piece, it made me wonder at this persons source of sorrow. I love that quote at the end!

your words dances in complex matters, poetry at its best.
the waves of sorrow is still within us, i guess it never fades to nothingness that easy.

Revenge as the warrior returns. Well penned Leslie as always. Eloquent and each word chosen.

The title,'Electra' suggests that there is some untold story that has to be revealed.
But,the mask of beauty of the piece keeps the reader engaged and hypnotized.
The reader can't move further but feels satisfied.
Leslie,I am captivated by the magic of this golden piece.

This poem conveys a plethora of emotions, with a lot of depth and variety!

"the noble are no more than disguised" - a painful reality? Superbly commented!

The bleak despair of the first and last verses contrasts starkly with the second verse. I love the small stones laughing, it captures the feeling so strongly.

Oooh I like!

Touch the clematis in a seaside garden

a patched wall sun-warmed

and crystal with salt

The title captures the intent very well...and language within this piece. Stunning!
