Post Mortem

Post Mortem

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

as you read it

"
the light from our window,
a crucifx on the lawn;
in rooms we are as heavy as actors,
slow as a conscience in twilight,
we created a house with shade

and it might have been we
searched with unstilled eyes
the warm garden lost in shadow

but no, the wind stole our sight.

Sadness and that last line. I am lost. Such beauty in a few lines.

This little poem leaves me feeling such sadness. Lives led in shade. The sun has been blotted out. Beautiful expression.

this is when the actors are playing themselves rather than someone else on screen.
And the real story is what is saddest...because it doesn't end in two hours, with credits rolling...
it never ends, not this kind of sadness...
beautiful poem.

Leslie, as always you know just how to take words and weave emotions and concepts and descriptiveness into sublime poetry, even the sadness of your loss can sound beautifully portrayed. I really feel for you and pray your healing continues.

If it were not for the sadness these words lend, I would look upon them with a different pair of eyes tho not more brightly... Thoroughly enjoyed & true..
