Society Sucks

Little girls trying to be perfect.

But ask yourself if its really worth it.

Dyeing your hair and coloring your face,

Only covers up what's at the base,

Of your heart and that's what matters.

So stop now before your soul shatters.

We all know that this world is tough.

But when are we going to say that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Children are dying.

And families are cry.

Because society says that if you're not perfect

Than you're not worth it.

 

Author's Note

Children, Teens, Young Adults.....we ALL have wanted to fit in. But when did it become "cool" to be just like everyone else??
Those mean girls? The jocks? To me they are the losers. But those kids that get pushed into the background just because they dont follow along with everyone else....THEY are the cool one. Because they haven't lost touch with their originality.

This is perfection. I think this is my new favorite poem.
Society has this image of beauty painted into everyone's mind, but what most people don't realize is that beauty is not always something that can be seen; but felt. I love the way this poem really captures that message. It was beautifully written and wonderful to read. Keep it up :)
