Dark and Light

Dark and Light

A Poem by LeslieNoel
"

The battle between darkness and light in one's own mind can be both freeing and exhausting.

"
Hints of anxiety sprinkle my life
Like sprigs of parsley in a salad
Sometimes it springs up and I can taste it
And other times it's subtle and mute

Darkness and light fight for space within my mind
Like a battle waging war on it's opponents
The dark is like a flagrant cloak
Obscuring my mind from visibility

It resembles coniferous, tumultuous
Clouds on the horizon
Waiting to engulf my senses
Without warning, Light peaks in
Scattering it's rays

Brightening the crevices and dark folds
With positive thoughts
And happiness

Some really nice poetic expression here to reflect the struggle to find a chink of light in the darkness. Sums up depression well for me.

This is a wonderful poem that illustrates the devious nature of depression. How it seeps slowly into the mind crippling spirit. Thank you for sharing your work.
